Wednesday 20 JUNE 2018 8.30-09.00 – Australian GAiT local chapter meeting – Room: 210, Level 2; room is set with crescent rounds for 49
To provide GAiT members in Australia and GAiT staff an opportunity to discuss matters which will not covered in the other Melbourne meetings during ISSCR/ISCBI2018 in order to further coordinate and utilise the week optimally.
- Review of where Australia lies within the Global GAiT mission
To help frame the global cell therapy landscape, we share a good recent global overview article on Cell Therapy Manufacturing by GAiT’s Steven Keizer (at the CCRM).
- Role of GAiT’s agreed CQAs in Australia’s efforts to generate clinical-grade iPSCs.
This will include reference to the GAiT QC manuscript describing CQAs and associated testing recommendations, as well as GAiT Quality Round. We ask Australian Institutions that have a program to develop clinical-grade iPSC lines to complete the 2nd Quality Standards Survey for GAiT Stem Cell Centres (2018) which allows GAiT measure concordance in Quality Testing globally and to assess progress in the field generally.
- Ethical and policy points currently being discussed in Australia relevant to allogeneic iPSC therapy development.
- Review of WMDA affiliated registries in Australia (shown below) and review of ongoing efforts with WMDA including Dr David Turner speak on GAiT’s mission and activity at the International Donor Registry Conference (IDRC), June 26-30, 2018 in Munich.
